Privacy

Your composing happens on your device. Here’s what is stored, what you choose to share, and what happens when you visit the website.

Effective 9 October 2026. Applies to the Pocket Composer website, web app and iOS wrapper provided by Edd Mann.

Tune data and preferences

Your current draft, saved tunes, favourites and preferences are stored locally in your browser or the iOS app’s WebView. Pocket Composer does not send this collection to a cloud account or synchronize it between devices. Safari, an installed browser app and the native wrapper may have separate storage.

App assets are cached locally for offline use and updates. Those caches are separate from your tune collection.

Exports and sharing

Audio and handset videos are generated on your device. Video generation records the drawn handset and synthesized audio; it does not use your camera or microphone. Exported files are downloaded or passed to the destination you choose in the system share sheet. That destination handles the file under its own privacy practices.

A copied melody link contains the melody in its URL. Anyone you send it to can open that tune. Opening the link makes a website request, and its query may appear in hosting request logs. Avoid putting private information into a shared melody or its title.

Website hosting

The website and app are served by GitHub Pages. Loading them makes ordinary network requests, including your IP address and request information. GitHub may process those details to operate and protect its hosting service; see GitHub’s privacy statement. Do not interpret local tune storage as a promise that no network data is processed.

Pocket Composer includes no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs and does not require an account. Local storage and offline caches support the app itself.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual saved tunes in My tunes. Clearing the browser’s website data or removing the native app and its data removes its local collection. Downloaded or shared files are separate: delete them from Files or the destination where you saved them. Data is not automatically restored from another device.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive the email address, message and attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and retain the correspondence only as needed to handle that request and related follow-up. Contact us if you want your support correspondence deleted.
